Daniela Mastrandrea

Born in the wonderful art city of Gravina in Puglia on May 24th, 1981, she started studying piano at the age of 7 and composed her first pieces when she was 9. In 2003, she graduated in piano from the “Nino Rota” Academy of Music in Monopoli (BA) where her teacher was Gabriella Bassi. At the same time she studied composition with Vito Liturri, Marco Della Sciucca, Cinzia Cannito and Vincenzo Anselmi.

She has been successful in a number of competitions for composition. In 2015, she was awarded first prize for her piece Luci e Ombre (published by Rotas) winning acclaim from both the jury and the public. In May 2012, she won third prize for her piece Ridi, and in December 2010 she was awarded first prize by the jury and won the acclaim of the public for her piece Indesiderabile TenerezzaIn 2017, she won the 1st edition of the Web Talent V.I.T.A. promoted by Believe Digital and Zimbalam Italy, winning a record production.

In 2005 her first CD for solo piano Volo di Gabbiani, a collection of pieces she composed between the ages of 11 to 18. 2016 saw CD called Fluide Risonanze  (Ed. Odos Servizi S.c.p.l.), compositions and arrangements of hers for performance as a quartet for flute, violin, cello and piano. A single entitled GAME OVER composed and performed for solo piano, was issued in 2017 and in 2018 a further work for solo piano, Lo Specchiowas released. In 2019 RENDEZVOUS her SINGLE, Claudine & Jean-Pierre her new SINGLE for cello and piano.

Her pieces and orchestral arrangements are performed by orchestras and groups in different parts of the world.

Her numerous engagements nowadays involve working with the following people and organizations; the conductor Bepi Speranza: Crescendo Audioregistrazione of Bari for the creation of original compositions for publicity, arrangements and transcriptions: the Adkins Chiti Foundation; the I Solisti Veneti; the Quintetto Sardò; Mondo TV. transcriptions, as well as Fondazione Adkins Chiti; I Solisti Veneti; Quintetto Sardò; Mondo TV.
